Intervention
Helping a loved one untangle themselves from the pain and suffering of addiction is one of the most important things that anyone will ever do for them. However, it is very important that you don’t act rashly, or take matters into your own hands without obtaining advice first. In order to prevent the situation from getting worse, you need to consult with a qualified intervention specialist before you make a move towards intervention.
When a person is dealing with an addiction, they have to admit that they have a problem on their own – no level of coercion is going to do it for them. Unfortunately, this means that no matter how much begging, threatening, or pleading you do with them, they cannot be forced into giving up an addiction if they don’t want to help themselves – if they aren’t ready to place their trust in a higher power. In fact, you can even make the situation worse by instigating arguments about their drug or alcohol problem.
The most important thing to remember about staging a Christian alcohol or drug intervention is that it can’t be treated like a confrontation. You will need to sit down at the advice of a certified intervention specialist, and extend the request for an intervention as an invitation toward healing, and a chance for a second lease on life.
However, once you or your loved one is ready, a Christian based alcohol treatment is one of the best programs that you can get involved with. It will address them as a whole, and encompass their problem on a mental and spiritual level. In fact, Christian based rehabs have some of the highest success rates of achieving sobriety because of the approach that they take on addiction.
If you or a loved one needs help overcoming an addiction to drugs or alcohol, know that there is still hope for a more meaningful purpose in life. All it takes is one phone call.
